LOGAN ART GALLERY RECEIVES VISIONS OF AUSTRALIA FUNDING
Logan Art Gallery is one of eleven cultural projects sharing in $1.4 million under the Morrison Government’s Visions of Australia regional exhibition touring program, to develop and tour arts and cultural exhibitions across the country.
Assistant Minister to the Attorney-General, Assistant Minister for Industrial Relations and Assistant Minister for Women, Queensland Senator Amanda Stoker said this support to Logan Art Gallery will help reinvigorate the local creative and cultural sector as we recover from COVID-19.
“The Gallery will receive around $160,000 for the ZOONOSES touring exhibition, which will tour to 12 venues across Queensland, and other states,” said the Senator.
“ZOONOSES is an immersive exhibition of contemporary multimedia work by Queensland artist Dr Nicola Hooper that engages with fairy tales, myths and rhymes and explores themes of the morality of human and animal relationships as they relate to the spread of zoonotic disease.”
“It is encouraging to see our local arts and cultural organisations continuing to develop and tour high-quality and engaging exhibitions.”
The vital support provided by the Visions of Australia program will allow these exhibitions to reach audiences around Australia and increase the diversity of artistic and cultural material available to the regions.
The Visions of Australia program will support the touring of eight exhibitions reaching venues in every state and territory, including 42 regional venues and three remote venues, which will help reignite the sector by showcasing this nation’s talent.
The program funds the development and touring of arts and cultural exhibitions, with a focus on increasing arts access for Australians living in regional and remote areas.
